The Chicago Bulls announced Wednesday that forward Nikola Mirotic underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday, and will be out until after the All-Star break.
Bulls forward Nikola Mirotić was diagnosed with an acute appendicitis. An appendectomy was performed earlier today at Rush University Medical Center and went as expected. As a result, Mirotić did not accompany the team on its trip to Los Angeles this afternoon.
He is expected to return after the All Star Break.
The Bulls second-year forward is averaging 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds, and will miss playing for the World Team in the Rising Stars Challenge at the NBA All-Star Weekend, Feb. 12-14.
