Art Briles is partly responsible for this mess, with Baylor’s offense looking like the reincarnation of the run-and-shoot. Briles turned Robert Griffin III into a top 3 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The Bears coach was resounding in his opinion that RG3's next NFL stop should be in Dallas.
“You could have a dream. That would probably be making it come true,” Briles said, via the Dallas Morning News. “That would be a great place for him. It’s a great organization; being back in Texas and with the Cowboys and having a chance to get in there under Romo for three years. Not that they need to sell tickets, but it wouldn’t hurt ticket sales.
“He’s a guy who kind of puts his own thoughts out there. He understands perseverance. He understands dedication. He understands commitment and he’s a guy that has been at an elite level for such a long time a minor setback like this certainly won’t deter any of his plan of action over the next few years. He’s going to end up being what he always could be and that’s one of the best guys on the field.”
Briles, who coached up Griffin to Player of the Year awards and a Heisman Trophy, said playing for the Cowboys would be a dream come true for the quarterback, and it makes sense from a football standpoint.
