The Denver Nuggets either really like their nucleus, or Blake Griffin just really is bad news around the league at this point.
The Clippers and Nuggets reportedly discussed a deal centered around Blake Griffin that would have sent a lot of valuable pieces to L.A., helping their championship run, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.
I was told that the Clippers actually called Denver and offered Blake Griffin and Lance Stephenson for Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, Nikola Jokic and Will Barton. And Denver turned it down.
Doc Rivers, I talked to him about that very deal. He said not true. There’s no way Blake’s getting traded.
Faried, a player similar to Griffin in athletic ability and finishing near the rim, is averaging 12.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1 block per game. He’s not Griffin, which says a lot about what may have given the Nuggets brass pause.
