Stephen Jackson has been known to speak his mind over the years, but this prediction might take the cake.
The 2007 edition of the Golden State Warriors struggled for most of the early part of that season, even with Baron Davis, but finished the year on a 16-5 run and capturing the eighth seed in the Western Conference after a blockbuster midseason trade with the Indiana Pacers.
The 42-40 Warriors returned to the post-season after a 13-year hiatus, upsetting the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs, 4-2.
Jackson was a guest on ESPN’s “The Jump," stating to the world that “his” Warriors team would beat the curren, reigning NBA champions.
“They’re great, don’t get me wrong. I’m not taking nothing from them,” Jackson said. “But we would have beat them. We had more heart.”
I love Stephen Jackson, but his boast is out of the world and wouldn’t happen if that 2007 team played out of their mind.
