Kevin Durant will be testing NBA Free Agency for the first time in his career this summer, and he'll most likely be the biggest name of the 2016 class. He is also most likely the only superstar to have a chance at switching teams.
As rumored in the past, many teams are believed to be making pushing for KD in this year's free agency, such as the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Lakers. There is also, of course, the Golden State Warriors.
According to Yahoo! Sports, another major contender in the San Antonio Spurs could make a push for Durant as well. The Celtics were also mentioned.
The fight for Durant doesn’t formally begin until July, but make no mistake: Teams are already gearing up. The coming spike in the salary cap has created a landscape for which nobody prepared. Golden State is considered a realistic option, San Antonio is lurking in the weeds, and it’s widely believed Boston will make its way onto Durant’s radar in the coming months. Indeed, a Bachelor-like courtship is set to commence.
KD definitely has a lot of options this summer. It's going to be very interesting to see what he does this summer.
