Dwight Howard had a very interesting interview—an intervention really—on TNT's "Inside the NBA" the other night.
There, Howard talked about trying to prove doubters wrong. Howard talks about how Charles Barkley doubted his ability to play in the NBA, while also adding that Magic Johnson said to him that he won't even make it to the pros.
“I’ll never forget the day I came in here and you [Charles Barkley] told me I wasn’t going to be good in the NBA. And I’ll never forget the day that Magic Johnson said I wasn’t going to make it to the NBA when I was in the 10th grade. And that stuff drives me every day to want to be one of the greatest players to play the game.”
While it is a very inspiring and deep quote from Howard, what he said may not be true. According to TMZ, Magic Johnson says that he never said that to the Houston Rockets center.
