Spike Lee Trying to Recruit Ray Allen to Knicks: Here's All the Team Interested in Him

There have been reports for over a month about Ray Allen considering an NBA comeback. It has been two full NBA seasons since Allen, now 41 years old, last played, which was with the Miami Heat in 2014.

Allen revealed recently that he is still interested in a return to the league. With his 3-point shooting ability and how he has been able to keep himself in playing shape the past two years, he's definitely an option for teams to consider.

Allen says he has spoken two of his former teams, the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. He, of course, has been tied to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. Other teams he has been connected to are the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers also.

Allen also revealed that famous film director and fan Spike Lee has been trying to recruit him to the New York Knicks. Allen, of course, starred in the movie "He Got Game" with Denzel Washington, which was directed by Lee.

Allen lives in Miami for most of the year, so the Heat are also an option for the veteran shooting guard. Allen, however, says that if nothing is able to come up for him by the start of the upcoming NBA season, he says, "“basically I’ll retire.”

“My decision is predicated on what is available. I said that I was interested because I never retired for a reason. I've been watching, seeing what teams have been doing and I've been waiting to see if the opportunity presented itself where I think I could fit.

“I would love going back to those places if it worked out, because both teams are good, too. It doesn't necessarily have to be championship-or-bust for me to go back to the NBA. I want to be in a situation where I thought I could help, play a little bit and help where they have good young talent.”

Allen has won two championships in his NBA career, as well as being a 10-time All-Star. He is already a future Hall-of-Famer, and one of the greatest shooters in the league's history.

If he doesn't play this season, he can know he retired accomplishing what most NBA players dream of.
