Ray Allen is attempting to make an NBA comeback despite being out of the league for two years and also being 41 years of age. However, he has kept himself in shape and is still considered one of the greatest shooters in the game.
Before Allen, it looked like Reggie Miller was regarded as the greatest shooter in NBA history. That was until Allen snatched the crown when breaking his 3-point record.
However, it looks the title now belongs to Stephen Curry, who has been shattering 3-point records year after year. He is on pace to shatter Allen's mark, and people already place him above the former star.
This reportedly bothers Allen, which is another reason for his comeback.
“Ray wants to play again. I’m sure about that,” The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn said, as transcribed by Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk. “I don’t think he particularly enjoys watching Stephen Curry rain threes and challenge his record and be called the best shooter in the world. I think that bothers him. I know Ray wants to extend his all-time three-point record.”
Allen is reportedly gauging interest from the likes of the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.
