The Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers signed two Colts free agents today. The Redskins agreed to terms with former Colts punter Hunter Smith, while the Steelers sign former Colts cornerback Kewian Ratliff.
Smith will compete with Dirk Johnson and Zac Atterberry in training camp to be the skins starting punter. And Ratliff will compete with Fernando Bryant, Anthony Madison, and William Gay for reserve cornerback roles.
Mike Dragosavich is currently the only punter on the Colts roster, but the Colts are expected to draft one in the draft tomorrow. Dragosavich was in the Browns cam earlier this off-season and was in the Patriots camp last off-season.
Ratliff leaves a hole for the Colts at punt returner and as the dime cornerback. Dante Hughes, Nick Graham, Michael Coe, and T.J. Rushings will compete to replace him at corner. While Rushings or Pierre Garcon will likely replace him at punt returner.
