After establishing that there would be no more athletes transferring straight from high school to the NBA, basketball analysts have now entertained the possibility of making players stay in college for a minimum of two to three years before they can actually declare themselves eligible for the NBA draft.

This topic could become extremely controversial for fans, so let me plead my case and then readers can plead theirs in the comment section.


The One and Done Rule

The NBA One and Done Rule specifically states that a player must be one year removed from high-school before being eligible to declare themselves NBA draft ready.

While clearly the NBA believes this rule is sufficient, I believe it is far from it.

Let's take a look back at some of the students that went straight to stardom right out of their old high-school lockers: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Tracy McGrady, Amare Stoudemire, Rashard Lewis.
