pirates.jpg The fine folks at ESPN.com reports that shortstop Jack Wilson and second baseman Freddy Sanchez look to return to the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the trade deadline ending in about two weeks, Pittsburgh looks to give both of these 31-year-old stars multi-year contracts.

"I'm very excited to possibly continue my career in Pittsburgh, to finish what I've started, and Freddy is going to be a vital piece of any decision I make," Wilson told ESPN. "Without Freddy, I think, it would be tough to win without a player like that."

Here's what Sanchez said as well:

"I want to finish my career turning double plays with Jack in a Pirates uniform. If it works out, it would be unbelievable. This is what we've been talking about for a long time."
Wilson has exclaimed that he is twice as much "beyond tired" with the trades the Pirates have made the past few seasons, some involving Nyjer Morgan and Erick Hinske.

Wilson has hit .270 with four homers while Sanchez has been batting .316 with six home runs. As far as many of us heard, if these guys are staying for real, the Pirates may improve from second half of the season.

Wilson and Sanchez are just the start, and we'll all continue to wait for more.
