Shawne Merriman hasn’t even played a game for the Buffalo Bills yet. Well, don’t expect any this season. The former All-Pro outside linebacker was recently placed on the injured-reserve list today after an injury with his Achilles tendon.
Merriman used to be one of the most fierce pass-rushers of the decade, but now he is diminishing into one of the scrubs of the National Football League. Merriman was released by the Chargers after continuous injuries and problems with franchise.
Merriman was very eager to make his first start this year after watching the Bills lose on the sideline in a 22-19 loss to the Chicago Bears. It appears Merriman will have to wait for that now.
Merriman also brought up trouble for his release after he was arrested for abuse on his then-girlfriend, Tila Tequila, last year.
Merriman needs to get his career back on track or it is officially “Lights Out” for him.
