Christian Lopez has become an instant celebrity since catching Derek Jeter's famous 3,000th hit. Topps, a famous card company and a sponsor of the MLB, made a specialized baseball card for Lopez.
“He’s a big card collector,” spokesman Matt Altman said last night. “That’s why we wanted to do it with Christian. It was a big day and he should have his own card.”

However, Lopez won't be making money out of the ordeal.

“Topps is proud to be able to help support this young man and place his rookie card right next to all of today’s legends,” Topps Vice President Mark Sapir said in a statement.

Lopez still owes about $100,000 to the IRS, and needs money, though. This is going to help, but will the Yankees help him now???
