To say it was a rough day for the New Orleans Saints would be a bit of an understatement. Not only did their head coach, Sean Payton, suffer a broken leg and torn MCL during a sideline collision, the team went on to lose in underwhelming fashion to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 23-20.
Though, if there was one positive glimmer on an otherwise gloomy Sunday for New Orleans, it was definitely second-year tight end Jimmy Graham, who added himself to the record books with an outstanding performance.
During the Week 6 contest, Graham hauled in seven passes for 124 yards, an impressive statline considering the Saints’ spread-the-wealth style of offense.
However, his numbers were even more significant because it was Graham’s fourth straight 100-yard game, which tied an NFL record and set a new franchise record for tight ends.
