NEW YORK -- Tamika Catchings, the WNBA's most valuable player, is joined by Angel McCoughtry, Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles and Lindsay Whalen on the All-WNBA first team, the league announced Tuesday.

Catchings, who plays for the Indiana Fever, picked up 187 points to top all vote-getters. It is her sixth all-WNBA first-team nod.

Joining Catchings is Phoenix Mercury guard Taurasi, honored as a first-team All-WNBA pick for the seventh time, and Minnesota Lynx guard Whalen, making her second appearance.

McCoughtry, a forward for the Atlanta Dream, and Connecticut Sun center Charles are making their first appearances on the first team.

Second-team picks included Sylvia Fowles of the Chicago Sky, Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm, Cappie Pondexter of the New York Liberty, Penny Taylor of the Phoenix Mercury and Seimone Augustus of the Minnesota Lynx.

First-team honorees earn $10,000 each, while second-team picks get $5,000. All get a trophy designed by Tiffany & Co.
