New York Jets' head coach Rex Ryan is known for his crazy antics and isn't scared to show off his opinion, no matter what the issue is.
After a comeback 27-21 victory over the San Diego Chargers, Ryan poked fun at the team.
"Stay classy, San Diego," said Ryan, referencing the character Ron Burgundy from the movie "Anchorman."
The Chargers had a 21-10 commanding lead heading into halftime, but blew it all way after New York scored 17 unanswered points to get the victory. Chargers' tight end, Randy McMichael, wasn't pleased with Ryan's comments, saying New York didn't do anything and it was just San Diego struggling.
"The San Diego Chargers beat ourselves, OK?" McMichael said. "It's all about us. We took our foot off the gas pedal, and we lost because of it. ... Their secondary isn't anything. It's our fault. It had nothing to do with anybody on their team. It's all about the guys in this locker room. We lost the game. They didn't do anything."
Antonio Cromartie, Jets and former Chargers cornerback, responded to McMichael, saying, "Honestly, when you're up by 11 points in the fourth quarter and you can't even finish the game up? That shows what kind of team you are -- a team that can't finish and that's been San Diego the whole time. There it is."
Jim Leonhard cut McMichael some slack, saying that most players take the responsibility of themselves and their team for the loss, not really giving the credit to their opponent. But he, with Darrelle Revis, dissed McMichael, basically saying he isn't much of a playmaker at all.
"We were focused on Antonio Gates," Darrelle Revis said. "(McMichael) didn't do nothing exciting in the game. I could see if he had five touchdowns or four touchdowns. He didn't do nothing special. I mean, he knocked me out (of bounds) on the interception. He's McMichaels. That's what his last name says on his jersey."
When the press corrected Revis that his last name isn't McMichaels, but McMichael, Revis made another big diss saying, ""McMichael, McMichaels. I don't pay attention. The only people I know are Philip Rivers, (Ryan) Mathews, Antonio Gates, Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd. Those are the people we were focused on for this game. ... Whatever he said was bogus."
I will have to cut McMichael some slack. I remember for a pretty sure fact he did used to be a big figure for the Miami Dolphins. He had a couple big seasons there.
"Let's see if they can win their (division), let's see if they can beat the Raiders first," Cromartie said.
It's going to be interesting to see if these two teams have a chance to meet each other in the playoffs.
