Despite starting out the season 10-0, the former No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys don't deserve to be ranked inside the BCS top 10.

Brandon Weeden and company don't even deserve to be ranked anywhere higher than No. 11 in this week's standings.

Houston and Virginia Tech are just two of the handful of teams that deserve to be perched atop the Cowboys in the standings.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before the Cowboys' high-octance offense stumbled and the nation's 67th-ranked scoring defense gave way to an average offense.

Iowa State hung around for far too long on Friday night and No. 2 Oklahoma State will surely be kicking itself for letting such an opportunity get away.

But to say that they were worthy of the No. 2 ranking because of their undefeated record would be absolutely ridiculous.

The Cowboys give up points like no one else, especially NC contenders like LSU and Alabama, who both boast NC caliber, dominant defenses.

Oklahoma State wouldn't stand a chance against either of those two top-ranked teams. In fact, the Cowboys would struggle against every one of the BCS top 10 teams.

Justin Blackmon leads one of the nation's top offenses, and the second-best passing attack in the country with 1,241 yards and 15 touchdowns, but as witnessed on Friday night against Iowa State, he and it can be stopped.

The Cowboys got caught looking ahead to Bedlam on Dec. 3, and now the game will be for the Big 12 title rather than a BCS title game berth.

It's a good thing that Oklahoma State lost this season, otherwise a very flawed and undeserving team would have played for the national championship.
