NFL referee Ron Winter did his best Criss Angel impression on Sunday afternoon when he disappeared into a pile of Ravens and Bengals during the two teams' AFC North divisional matchup in Baltimore.

Ravens rookie Jimmy Smith picked off Andy Dalton and then fumbled right into the path of Winter, who is seen here in the video backpedaling for his life.

Unfortunately, Winter is not as fast or agile as the traditional wild zebra, but arguably more nimble.

Winter bounced right back up like a champ after taking a moment to collect himself, and reminded sports fans everywhere why NFL officials are among the best, and toughest, in the business.

To hell with hockey refs getting punched in the mug while breaking up fights, try getting dog-piled by a bunch of pissed off, raging lunatics in full pads and helmets.

Winter will definitely have some new bruises to show off tomorrow morning, and he'll likely be the first one laughing when the replay is absolutely abused on Monday morning's SportsCenter.

You have to give it up to the guy though, he did everything right except recover the ball.

Winter didn't miss a snap of action after the play and, like a true veteran, kept his flag in his pocket even though he was probably abused at the bottom of that pile.

The Ravens would score after recovering and take a comfortable lead on the Bengals who are in danger of losing two in a row.
