With the Colts at 0-11 and facing a tough New England Patriots team up next, they already made some changes to get ready for the future. After seeing a defense being pummeled over and over again for eleven straight weeks, Indianapolis has finally fired defensive coordinator, Larry Coyer.
Along with that, the Colts also named Dan Orlovsky the new starting quarterback, as he will make his first start since being with the 0-16 Lions in 2008 as he will start versus a tough Pats team. Curtis Painter continues to struggle in big moments time after time. Indy had two chances to force their game with the Panthers into overtime, but threw a pick each time in the end zone, leading to the 27-19 victory for Carolina.
"We feel this is the most effective and realistic way to move forward and win games this season," Caldwell said of the Coyer firing. "We appreciate all of the effort and hard work Larry Coyer put forth in his three years with the Colts."
Indianapolis has a tough off-season ahead of them, as they have more decisions to make with Peyton Manning, Jim Caldwell, and several other key people to the organization.
