Philadelphia Eagles tight end, Brent Celek, was a passenger in a DUI crash early this morning, but was unhurt, along with driver who was over the limit for alcohol. The crash happened on a highway ramp near the Eagles' stadium.
According to the police report, the car was driving too fast and it hit the concrete barrier early at 2:30 AM.
"I did not know that the person driving the car was over the legal limit, but that's not an excuse. I put my life in danger and was in a vehicle that put other people's lives in danger, and that's just not the way I operate. It will not happen again," the 27-year-old said.
Celek is coming off a 62-catch season for 811 yards along with five touchdowns.
Thank God he wasn't hurt. He needs to be a lot more aware next time in these types of situations. Stay safe.
