Like Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder is gonna get some cash now. With him leaving the Milwaukee Brewers at no surprise, the All-Star slugger has agreed to a nine-year deal worth $214 million with the Detroit Tigers.
The Brewers knew they weren't going to re-sign Fielder, but GM Doug Melvin is sad to see him go, as he tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"Scott said from Day 1 it was going to be $200 million," Melvin told the newspaper. "When you hear those kinds of numbers, we couldn't get involved in that. All I can say is we had the feeling it was going to be very difficult to keep him."
It's gonna be exciting seeing Fielder play.
Welcome to Detroit!
