News came up of the San Francisco 49ers moving to a new stadium prior to the beginning of the 2015 season. However, the process looks like it will be faster than expected, as the new stadium relocation will be prior to the 2014 season, according to the San Francisco Gate.
The stadium will have 85,000 seats and it will be located in Santa Clara. It is expected to be done before week one of the regular season begins. If the stadium isn't built by then, the construction company will face a heavy fine, as reported up to possibly $20 million.
However, if they get it done at a great time -- let's say during the pre-season games -- they will actually have a bonus, which could be up to $5 million. City officials will OK the agreement by this Tuesday, according to reports. Construction for the new stadium will start by July.
Looks it will be a farewell to Candlestick Park. Enjoy it while it lasts, Niner fans.
