There was much question on whether Ed Reed will play or not next season after a disappointing end back in January in the AFC Championship when the Baltimore Ravens fell to the New England Patriots by a missed field goal.
However, the ten-year pro announced that he will return to play for the Ravens next year. Reed, 34, however has been considering retirement for the past few years due to injuries that started in 2008.
With Ray Lewis returning for another year, I expect Reed to return as well. It just seems that is how it's going to go.
"He told John [Harbaugh, Ravens coach] that he's going to get himself prepared to come back and play in 2012," Ravens' GM Ozzie Newsome said.
It seems like Reed and Lewis won't retire until they get a ring (Ray is going for his second).
Since joining the NFL in 2002, Reed has 57 interceptions, which leads the NFL among active players. I look forward to another strong year by the safety next season.
