Ever since Plaxico Burress got reinstated to the NFL, many rumors started piling up that he could join Michael Vick in Philadelphia. However, it never happened as he went on to play for the New York Jets. Burress showed he could still play, and he did well for a 34-year-old.
He finished off the season with 45 catches for 612 yards along with eight touchdowns. Now 35, Burress is looking elsewhere most likely, and the team he would love to play for is the Eagles.
"Hey, man, nothing else would make me happier," said Burress, a guest on the "Brian Baldinger & Harry Mayes Show" on 97.5 The Fanatic ESPN Radio. Burress said he would add a "unique dynamic" to the Eagles' offense, joining a receiving corps that includes DeSean Jackson (a free agent) and Jeremy Maclin. Burress said he talks once or twice a week with Vick, and he believes it would be a "special deal" to team up with him because of their friendship and similar background.
"I really believe he can bring a championship to Philadelphia, and I'd love to be part of that," Burress said.
I think Burress would fit nicely in the Eagles' offense. In my opinion, this is the guy they need. Philly does have fast, deep-threat receivers...like Desean Jackson. But they need a guy like that who can also help out big in the red zone. Burress is 6'5", and Philly could definitely use a tall receiver to accommodate the fast, 5'10" guys on the roster.
Burress also says he will be much more into his old self next year.
Where do you think Burress goes? Will he re-sign with the Jets, go to the Eagles, or somewhere else?
