There have been many rumors for the past month on Rasheed Wallace returning to the NBA. Well, now, he's back as he will be signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to CSNNE.com.
Wallace has been reported that his condition has been better than it's been in years. He will be a solid back-up for Pau Gasol coming off the bench. Although this doesn't help the Lakers get any younger, they do get a big upgrade for the bench.
"His days as a starter in this league are gone," a front office executive told CSNNE.com. "I think he knows that, and so do the Lakers. But think about it. Of the big men that are available, is there one that's really better? And if he's gotten himself in shape, adding him becomes a huge get for them."
The 37-year-old, 15-year pro has averaged about a 15-7 for his career and last played for the Boston Celtics, in which he faced the team he just signed with in the NBA Finals. He's also most notably known for playing with the Pistons and Blazers as well.
Good luck Sheed!
