Ever wondered why the Denver Nuggets traded away Nene? It's for this guy: Wilson Chandler. The Nuggets freed up some cap space to sign the forward to a five-year, $37 million deal.
Chandler played overseas in China during the lockout, and had to continue playing there due to the contract negotiations. He played solid, averaging 27 points and twelve rebounds per game.
It seemed like a return to Denver was likely as he was attending the team's games for the past month.
Denver will be entering the playoffs soon and could use Chandler as a very helpful asset. At 25-20, they can definitely improve their record with him back.
He averaged 15 points and about six rebounds last season with them.
Adding to this, the Nuggets also waived center Ronny Turiaf, who was acquired in a trade when they sent Nene to Washington. He only played four games this season.
