For celebrating her 105th birthday at the Lakers-Hornets game, Allene Wynn wasn't too thrilled at first to see that Kobe Bryant started 0-of-15. However, things quickly changed at the end as the Black Mamba would nail a game-winner with 20 seconds left to lift Los Angeles to victory, 88-85.
The oldest person to have ties with the Lakers met with several of the players before the game; like Kobe himself, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum. She was especially excited when she met Bryant.
"It just made me feel good all over to meet him in person. I've been wanting to meet him for years," Wynn told ESPNLosAngeles.com. "I got to touch him. I shook hands with him and hugged him. I said, 'Wait, let me hug you, baby.'"
Bryant would finish the game with eleven points on 3-of-21 shooting, but at least he was able to make someone's wishes come true on their very special day.
"That's unbelievable, 105 years old," Bryant said with a smile. "I don't think this game did anything to relax her."
Wynn has surely picked a good franchise to follow for a century, witnessing great players like Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Magic Johnson, Shaq, and of course Kobe.
