During the third quarter of Sunday’s Celtics/Lakers game, Rajon Rondo revealed his interest in becoming an NFL receiver during the NBA’s lockout last summer.
The Boston Celtics point guard stated playing wide receiver is something he felt he could do and went as far to contact Bill Belichick about the possibility of the former NBA champion suiting up on Sundays.
While Belichick encouraged him to check out a Patriots practice, Rondo’s hopes were dashed when he realized his contract denied such an opportunity.
ABC’s Lisa Salters asked Tom Brady, who attended Sunday’s game, about Rondo’s revelations.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP said while he has never seen Rondo catch passes, he appears to be fast. That is a nice way of saying “he’ll never catch passes from me.”
Well played Tom.
