Former New York Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham has now reached an agreement with the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year contract. Manningham is well-known for his amazing catch in the Super Bowl this year in a victory over the Patriots.
Manningham will join a solid receiving core that features Vernon Davis, Randy Moss, and Michael Crabtree.
With that, the Niners are also in pursuit of Peyton Manning. Manning has reportedly talked with San Fran and signs point to that the team looks like the destination of where he's headed. Steve Young thinks that's where Manning is probably headed.
This also adds more possibility of Manning to San Fran due to Alex Smith visiting with the Miami Dolphins today, as he knows that he could be replaced.
"This is the NFL. I guess nothing surprises me anymore," Smith told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Sunday.
"I never thought a year ago (Peyton) Manning would be a free agent either," Smith told the newspaper. "I'm never surprised by anything."
Looks like the Manning watch could be coming to an end.
What will it be, Peyton: the 49ers, Titans, or Broncos?
