Kim Mulkey has been a terrific head coach for the lady Baylor Bears squad, as she has helped lead the squad to the Final Four as they continue their undefeated streak and on to a perfect season hopefully.
However, according to the Associated Press, Mulkey was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, a disease in which you have facial paralysis. She revealed the condition to the team before practice today.
Things got bad for Mulkey as she discovered she had a weird feeling in her mouth when she ate. Then she discovered in the mirror that her left eye was drooping. She then went to have an MRI as two doctors discovered she had the disease.
"I know that I will recover," Mulkey said. "It will take some time to recover and it may get worse before it gets better."
The 49-year-old recently helped Baylor overcome Tennessee to advance to the Final Four. They will play Stanford on April 1, as Baylor looks to become one of the rare 40-win teams.
I wish the best to Mulkey and a quick recovery for her.
