After Stan Van Gundy confirmed that Dwight Howard wanted him fired earlier this week, ESPN's Lisa Salters talked to Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith to see if the All-Star center actually requested for him to be fired.
"He never asked me; I didn't have that knowledge," Smith said during the team's 88-82 victory over the 76ers.
Smith says that both parties are to blame for their miscues.
"If he did ask he's wrong, and for Stan to address it in public, that is wrong," Smith said.
However, Smith may need some explaining to do after it was recently reported that Howard wanted Van Gundy out BEFORE the season and instead wanted the time to go after Brian Shaw or Michael Malone.
