The Miami Heat already have a playoff-spot locked up now and look to make a push for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference as they trail the Chicago Bulls by only four games.

For Miami, they are fine being with the No. 2-seed, as they still made it to the NBA Finals with it. However, some have indicated that head coach Erik Spoelstra may consider resting his starters to prepare for the upcoming playoffs in three weeks.

Spoelstra denied every single word of it:
“This is absurd. Everybody is going through this right now. Does everyone feel 100 percent? No. Is there some physical fatigue? Yes. Is there some mental fatigue? Probably. Every team is going through that. We’re not going to shut it down with three weeks to go. That type of storyline is getting ridiculous.”

I agree with Spoelstra. For any sport, resting starters really don't pan out. In the NFL, many No. 1/No. 2 seeded teams rest their starters for the final one or two weeks of the season, only to see themselves lose two weeks later in the divisional round.

It's better to just keep your starters out there, and it's good to see Spoelstra doing just that.
