The Indianapolis Colts have been rebuilding and are entering a new era led by Andrew Luck and company.
For quite some time now, the Colts were rumored to have had star defensive end Dwight Freeney on the trade block. Freeney currently has a base salary of more than $14 million.
During the 2012 NFL Draft, the Colts were rumored to be trading the veteran if they were to get a good enough draft pick in return. Now, there is really no chance of that as we head into the third day. With that, Indianapolis has no option but to keep him for the season.

Jim Irsay confirmed the news via Twitter:
The only people hoping for trade with Free#93 are the ones that have to play against us...he's MAYHEM with plenty of gas left in the tank!

Freeney had 8.5 sacks last season. He will be making the transition to outside linebacker this season as the Colts move to a 3-4 defensive scheme.
