For LaMarcus Aldridge, his lasting impression of the Dallas Mavericks was when they beat them in the first round of last year's NBA Playoffs in six games. With the playoffs now soon approaching, and the Portland Trail Blazers fighting for at least the eighth seed, Aldridge did all he could for his team.
He did just enough.
With a few second remaining in overtime and the game tied at 97, Aldridge delivered an amazing 17-foot fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to lead Portland to victory. He would finish with 25 point and twelve rebounds for the game as Portland improves to 27-29 on the season.
With the win, they are currently three games back from the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets, who both have 30 wins and hold the eighth and seventh seed for the playoffs.
We'll see what unfolds by the time this month ends.
But man, what a shot by Aldridge, puttin' the team on his back.
