Looks like Drew Stanton just can't catch a break.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians wants the team to sign Byron Leftwich as the back-up quarterback to help out Andrew Luck (or Robert Griffin III) for next season as they prepare for their rookie year.
Arians used to be with the Steelers these past few years and worked with Leftwich, who wasn't that bad as a back-up over there. Although Leftwich may cost money since the Steelers still want him, they may just go after him to help.
However, this won't bode well for Stanton. Stanton recently signed a contract with the New York Jets, but things quickly turned around when Tim Tebow came him, forcing him to move to third on the depth chart. Stanton then requested a trade, as he now lands on the Colts.
If Leftwich were to come in, Stanton will move down to third-string once again. Would he ask for another trade?
I've never seen so many problems for a back-up before.
