Deron Williams and Steve Nash are the hottest names to be entering the free agent market this off-season. Both would make a tremendous impact on any of the 30 teams in the NBA.

Could one of those teams be the Indiana Pacers?

Indiana looks like only a star point guard away from a serious title run. They either get the score-first guard in Williams or the pass-first guard in Nash.

Indiana will have cap room to work with this and the point guard position is a true need. There are two different scenarios that would have to work for each of these guys to end up on the Pacers.

Williams is the prize catch this summer. For Indiana to lure him in, they will have to sell him on winning immediately with their deep roster.

The Pacers will have a roster of Roy Hibbert, Danny Granger, David West, and Paul George to play around. I don't know of all of the contenders in the Williams sweepstakes who could have a better lineup than Indiana.

This likely means that restricted free agent George Hill would have to leave to have enough cap room for Williams to come.

Hibbert is also a restricted free agent, but the Pacers main priority is to have Hibbert back for a long time in Indy.

Williams would flourish in the Pacers' system. He could take it himself or dish it inside to West or Hibbert. Williams would easily vault to the Pacers to one of the top teams in the league.

The question is if Williams would come to a small market like Indiana or even consider coming to play for the Pacers.

Then, there is Nash. He is 38 years old, but could still heavily contribute to a team.

Nash could use his top-of-the-notch passing skills to help Hibbert and Granger get the ball without any troubles. Indiana had 20 turnovers in the loss to Miami in Game 6 and Nash would definitely help shrink that amount.

Nash is a pass-first point guard that the Pacers haven't had before. They've always had a scoring guard which works, but limiting turnovers is key.

He's being looked at by Miami, New York, and Dallas. If LeBron James says "Come join us in South Beach," he will do so.

It will be tough for the Pacers bought to land either Williams or Nash, but they have to try all they can to solve this issue that is worsening.

If I had to make a prediction, Nash is a lot more likely to happen than Williams. Personally, I don't see Indiana landing either one of them and will likely have to settle for Darren Collison and/or Hill again in the starting spot.

Hill is more of a backup shooting guard, while Collison showed up in the Miami series that. He also showed that he suits himself better off the bench.

Another option for Indiana would be Kentucky point guard Marquis Teague. He will likely be around when the Pacers pick 26 in the upcoming draft. Even though he's a scoring guard, it might be the only thing they can do.

It looks like if Indiana can't force Williams or Nash to come to Indiana next season, they will likely continue to struggle with a limited amount of assists and a lot of turnovers.
