It seems like it's been a given that Jeremy Lin will return to the New York Knicks, according to many of the assumptions.
However, according to Lin's agent, Roger Montgomery, he says that it isn't a conclusion yet that he will stay for sure.
"I don't expect that. We're not anticipating that's going to happen. We don't have assurances of anything," Montgomery told the New York Post (via ESPN). "I know history shows most restricted free agents go back to their team, but I'm not going to assume anything. We're waiting to see what happens."
Knicks coach Mike Woodson said this past week that Lin will "absolutely" return. Lin had his breakout season in 2012, averaging about 15 points and six assists per game.
"There's always going to be uncertainty until the final contract is signed, so definitely nothing is set in stone," Lin said. "Nothing's set in stone until it's really written."
Will Lin return?
I don't think Knicks fans should really panic. I think he will most likely return to the team, since he started off so well until his season abruptly ended with a torn meniscus.
