Larry Bird was definitely not happy Tuesday night after the Indiana Pacers blew their 2-1 lead after getting destroyed by the Miami Heat in Game 5, 115-83.
The Pacers now trail the series, 3-2, and are in a win-or-go-home mode as they head back to Bankers Life Fieldhouse for Game 6.
Bird called out the Pacers, saying they played "soft" against Miami in the beatdown. Bird went as far as to even spelling out the word to show how bad they really were:
“I can’t believe my team went soft,” Bird said on the phone. “S-O-F-T. I’m disappointed. I never thought it would happen.”
When asked to elaborate on those comments, an obviously frustrated Bird said, “That’s all I have to say.”
Bird is right, however, about the Pacers' play. With guys like David West and Roy Hibbert down low, they shouldn't be losing out on guys like Joel Anthony and Shane Battier in the paint.
With how the Pacers have been playing so far, it looks like the Heat can steal this series away in six games now.
