If the Heat were to lose to Indiana in this series, would Miami break up the big three?
People thought that the trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh would win titles right away. Now it looks like they won't even be able to get by the Pacers.
ESPN's Mike Greenberg suggested this morning that the Heat should trade Dwyane Wade. Even though he's having a bad series, I don't see why they're jumping to conclusions so quick.
They don't have Chris Bosh in this series and that's a big reason why they have struggled so far against the Pacers big men. Ronny Turiaf, Joel Anthony, and Udonis Haslem can't guard Roy Hibbert and David West.
Miami is missing that pass-first point guard and true big man. If they had those two things, they would be unbeatable.
Would Miami be open to trading one of their stars for a player like Rajon Rondo or Dwight Howard? I don't see anything happening soon with the big three. It's only been two years. We shouldn't end this marriage of the trio right away.
I think the true issue is Erik Spoelstra. Miami needs a veteran coach to lead this all-star group of players. A coach like Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan, or even bringing back Pat Riley would benefit this team greatly.
It's starting to become pretty obvious that those trio of stars run that team. Dwyane Wade was yelling and getting in Spoelstra's face during the game last night.
If they were to lose this series, that moment would be the most criticized.
Everyone needs to calm down for now. If Miami doesn't a win a title in the next two years, get ready for a break up. The key right now is patience for the big three.
The question is if they lose to Indiana, will Spoelstra be fired? We'll find out soon.
