Heading into the locker room, the All-Star power forward punched a fire extinguisher in American Airlines Arena. With that, STAT started to bleed like crazy.
With this, Stoudemire will likely be out for the series for this decision as he ended up having a pretty bad injury. This causes even more disaster for New York, who will miss another key player adding to Jeremy Lin and Iman Shumpert for the series.
"I am so mad at myself right now, I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions, headed home for a new start," Stoudemire posted on his Twitter account.
Stoudemire is almost certain he'll miss the next game. With New York likely to be swept now, it's probably more appropriate to say he'll be out for two games.
“Amare is a huge piece of this team,” Tyson Chandler said. “And, you know, without him, it's going to make it more difficult.”
