In a game between Lower Columbia and Everett Community College, LC left fielder Derrick Salberg made the baseball play of the year with his leaping catch.
Lower Columbia was leading 4-2 at the bottom of the 9th inning where Salberg made the amazing catch.
It would later make SportsCenter as the top play.
“By far the best catch I’ve ever made,” Salberg told The Daily News Online. “I was waiting for the bullpen pitchers to tell me I was getting close to the fence. Thank God I didn’t run into the fence, and I’ve got some hops.”
