Center Dwight Howard reportedly wanted him fired when news came out in early April. Van Gundy found out about it and Orlando's season was topsy-turvy after it was broke.
Howard suffered a herniated disk soon after, which resulted in a first round loss to the Indiana Pacers.
I guess Van Gundy won't have to deal with all of the drama in Orlando anymore. General Manager Otis Smith was also fired today.
Two dominoes have fallen in the "Dwightmare" case. Now, we'll see if Howard ends all the drama in the Magic Kingdom this summer with a trade.
This will only get more interesting as the summer wears on.
