Chad Ochocinco is officially a free agent after being released by the New England Patriots Thursday afternoon.
The Patriots were looking for potential teams to get Chad via a trade, but they couldn't find any suitors by the 4 PM deadline.
Ochocinco was unable to comprehend with the team's playbook, which led to him having his worst statistical season last year. Now, Ochocinco is without a job, but he probably has some teams interested.
According to this article by ESPN Insider, some teams may be interested, but they haven't found out if they are linked to him yet. These teams include the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, and the St. Louis Rams.
Cleveland would definitely like Ochocinco on their squad. With Brandon Weeden as the new quarterback, Ochocinco could be a reliable target. Buffalo could also use him to pair with Stevie Johnson. Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled last season and if he has more targets, it's for the better.
Miami recently had to trade Brandon Marshall, so they could definitely see Ochocinco as their new possible deep-threat. With Ryan Tannehill most likely to be the starter, he needs help big time. Mr. 85 can help him with that.
Minnesota don't have all that many receiving targets, but they need to help out Christian Ponder. Pairing Ochocinco with guys like Jerome Simpson and Percy Harvin would definitely help. It would be dangerous, especially with Adrian Peterson now returning from injury.
And, of course, there are the St. Louis Rams. The Rams are always linked to many teams for receivers that can help out Sam Bradford. They were unable to get either Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd as many had hoped in the NFL Draft, but getting Ochocinco is good enough.
Where do you think would be the best fit for Chad?
