The Detroit Lions defensive tackle was arrested in late May for reckless driving, speeding and also while drunk, which led to the DUI.
Fairley was also arrested a month earlier for possession with marijuana.
Fairley apologized for his recent arrests, saying they were "inexcusable," according to the Associated Press.

Writing Friday on Facebook, he says he needs to meet the high standards of being a professional athlete.
Hopefully Fairley matures, or he could be seeing himself without a job.
