According to the Associated Press, the Seattle Seahawks have offered former USC recruit Brian Banks a tryout with the team.
Banks hasn't accepted the invitation yet.
Banks was recently exonerated of rape and kidnapping charges that forced him to leave a lot of his football years extinct.
However, he is still young at 26 years old, so he has a lot of years. The linebacker was supposed to be a star defensive player at USC until he got wrongfully arrested.
Here's more from AP:
About four hours after walking out of his hotel room, Banks stood before a bank of television cameras announcing the Seahawks have invited him back for their minicamp next week.
Banks has not accepted the invitation yet. He says he needs to speak with his agent and determine whether Seattle is his best option.
But Banks, wearing a sweatshirt with "XONR8" on the front, said he was extremely appreciative that the Seahawks and Carroll are giving him a chance.
I think Banks will accept the offer. It's real nice of Pete Carroll to do this, and I wish the best of luck to Banks on pursuing his dream.
