It was said a few days ago that former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens will be making a return to the mound, as he will be pitching in an independent baseball league at age 50.

However, could Clemens make a return back to the big leagues? Houston Astros owner Jim Crane isn't ruling anything out, as he could see the Rocket making a return.

"I think the fans might like it," Crane told Fox affiliate KRIV-TV in Houston, via ESPN. "It might be fun and certainly get a few people in the ballpark. I don't see anything negative about that, but the Astros wouldn't want to do it for the money, the extra gate or anything like that."

Clemens, who plays for the Sugar Land Skeeters currently of the Atlantic league, will have a scout sent towards him from the Astros to check him out, along with left-hander Scott Kazmir, who's also on the team.

However, Clemens did point out that he's nowhere near the shape he was in that he could play in the pros.

"I'm 50 years old. We're just going to go out and have fun with this and make it fun for the fans," he said.

Clemens last played for the New York Yankees in 2007. But right now, he's worried about his first game with the Skeeters.

"I've been to the major leagues and back a couple of times," he said. "I've retired and unretired, so I wouldn't consider thinking that far ahead. I'm just going to try to get through Saturday. I think I can compete a little bit."

What do you think? Do you see the seven-time Cy Young winner returning?
