It seems the storm has gone to Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount.
Many pundits feel rookie Doug Martin was drafted out of Boise State to eventually replace Blount as the starting running back. The two spent the preseason rotating carries with the first-team offense.
Martin, however, started the Week Three pre-season game against the New England Patriots on Friday night, which could mean that he has the starting job intact with him now.
Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times is reporting that it may be Martin’s job to lose now. So essentially, Bucs head coach Greg Schiano gets what he wants and Tampa Bay gets some burst at the running back position.
Sorry, LeGarrette.
