Although there was an extra day added to it due to weather conditions, Sergio Garcia was still able to capture victory with a win in North Carolina at the Wyndham Championship.
The victory broke Garcia's four-year drought of not winning a PGA Tour victory, with his last victory on the PGA Tour happening at the 2008 Players Championship.
Garcia claimed the victory a under-18 score, beating out Tim Clark in a two-stroke win. Garcia earned $936,000 from the win and most likely could see himself getting a spot on the European Ryder Cup squad.
"I think there were a lot of things going on. It shows a lot to me," Garcia said. "Hopefully, this will secure my spot on the Ryder Cup team, and winning is always nice."
Garcia has overall gone through a pretty frustrating year, showing his anger like breaking several cameras on the course with his clubs, even shattering some of them and yelling out a few Spanish curse words here and there.
Good job, Sergio! Good stuff for golf.
