The lights may actually be on inside Tyrann Mathieu’s head after all.
Yesterday, I wrote in a post that he should consider sitting out a season at LSU to grow and mature instead of transferring to a FCS school.
It seems the Honey Badger may be thinking the same thing.
ESPN.com and Joe Schad are reporting that Mathieu is seriously interested in remaining at LSU and sitting out a season to focus on his education and most importantly himself.
Mathieu and his family love the support system in Baton Rouge and feel he can get the help he needs there.
Mathieu has two-years of eligibility left and plenty of time to reach the NFL. Right now at this moment, he needs to focus on maturing and finding himself. He’s still a young man and needs to resolve those lingering issues now instead of waiting until later when there are possibly millions on the line.
I’m proud of him for understanding the urgency of this situation and caring enough about his life to possibly miss a year of football.
