Dareus' 19-year-old brother, Simeon Gilmore, was shot to death inside a Pelham, Alabama home, along with two others.
Casey Cumberland and Joshua Smith, both 22 years of age, were also killed.
Shelby County police have charged 20-year-old John Staggs with three counts of capital murder. Police have yet to uncover a motive for the incident.
Dareus is believed to be in a route to Birmingham at this time.
